For Colony Vatgrown characters, every skill is a minor passion (single flame), to represent the fact that they were genetically engineered.A +1 or +2 bonus granted by the backstory is a single flame.A +3 or more bonus granted by the backstory is a double flame.Pick a Childhood backstory (unless your character is supposed to be Colony Vatgrown). NOTE: I highly recommend using "Pawns are Capable" mod so that disabled work turns into hated work instead. It goes without saying that without regard for character concept, you can create an obscenely powerful character under these rules too, but then you might as well use no rules at all. Note that the "balanced" is in quotes, I'm sure someone will think that characters created via this method are OP regardless, but whatever. I don't like to use point limits, but I still try to have some kind of guardrails so my compulsion to create demigod supermen doesn't get completely out of hand.
